Dear HMS Families,

Thanks for your attention to this news from our wonderful PTO!

PTO TEACHER APPRECIATION – Accepting donations October 8-21

Parents and guardians, please help us celebrate our Yarmouth teachers! This year we cannot have lunch brought in from student homes as we have in the past, but we can still provide staff with a warm lunch! Would you please consider donating a lunch to a teacher? We will use the funds to buy gift cards from local restaurants. Options to donate:

Send in cash or check through your student’s folder, and your teacher will drop it off at the office for the PTO. Or mail to P.O. Box 262, Yarmouth. Checks made out to Yarmouth PTO.

Donate through Venmo, credit card, or PayPal by going to https://givebutter.com/jfOv3t.

Note about fees: You can choose to pay the small processing fee (we’d be most appreciative!) or pass it on to us. There is a window to tip Givebutter since it doesn’t charge fees for use. If you want to avoid the suggested “tip,” click in the $ window and select Other.

We have approximately 175 staff members. We’re hoping to provide a little bright spot in the middle of their day. Thank you! Please contact Jessica Raimy and Christy Hayashida with questions at yarmouthpto04096@gmail.com.

PTO PARENT EDUCATION EVENT – October 13, 7:30-8:30 pm, Zoom, Free

Back-to-School During a Pandemic: Setting Your Family Up for Success

Led by Marjie Longshore, founder of the local non-profit, Family Leadership Center

Please join the Yarmouth PTO and Family Leadership Center for a conversation on how to set your family up for success as we move through this back-to-school season. Students, parents, and caregivers alike are facing many unknowns. While much may be uncertain and feel out of our control, there are ways that we can support our students and give them space to adapt, learn new skills, grow, and thrive. During this free, 60-minute online workshop, we will talk about how to encourage and support our students while taking care of ourselves as parents and caregivers. You will leave the workshop with specific strategies to use – whatever that might look like for your family.

To join, please complete this short form: https://forms.gle/cDt3U2JRJqGqFP1a9. You will receive the Zoom link via email. We are looking forward to seeing you then! Please contact Christina Copsey with questions at tina.copsey@gmail.com. To learn more about Family Leadership Center go to: familyleadershipcenter.org.

Again, please contact Jessica Raimy and Christy Hayashida with questions at yarmouthpto04096@gmail.com

Thank you!
