On December 7, YSD was notified that one construction worker at each of the constructions sites at Rowe School and Harrison Middle School recently tested positive for COVID-19.  This information has not been verified by the CDC, but we are informing the public of these situations out of an abundance of caution and a desire to be transparent with all things related to COVID-19.  As each worker was working in a newly constructed (unoccupied) area of the building, no school staff or students came in contact with this individual.

In general, construction workers will not have close contact with staff or students at our schools; during the school day they are working in specific areas of the buildings that are typically off-limits to students and staff, though there may be times when a limited number of workers will be traveling through an occupied space.  Still, if a worker who is on-site at our schools tests positive for COVID-19, we will make the public aware of the situation, and take all necessary steps to ensure the safety of our staff and students.
