On Thursday, March 12, the School Committee voted unanimously to send a $44,212,213 budget for the 2026-2027 school year to the Town Council for further consideration. This represents a 4.65% increase in expenditures, partially offset by a 4.3% increase in state funding.

The proposal is largely a "level services" budget, with no new positions or programs, and the reduction of 1 instructional support position across the district.

Read more about the budget proposal in the superintendent's budget narrative and on the district finance page.

The Town Council will consider the budget at three upcoming meetings before sending it to the voters for approval in the state-required two-step process scheduled for June 2 and June 9.
